KICKR RUN Belt Lubrication

Treadmill belts need lubrication to reduce friction between the belt and the deck. Without proper
lubrication, the belt can wear out more quickly and create excessive noise during operation.

Schedule

We suggest checking the KICKR RUN's belt and deck every 6-12 months and lubricating as needed.  For other cleaning and maintenance recommendations, see KICKR RUN Cleaning and Maintenance.

Tools Required

Procedure

  1. Prepare the Area
    • Ensure the KICKR Run is turned off and unplugged from the power source.
    • Clear any debris or dust from the belt and running deck using a clean cloth or
      towel.
  2. Check Belt Condition
    • Inspect the belt for any signs of wear, fraying, or damage. If the belt shows
significant wear or damage, it may need to be replaced before lubrication.
  3. Apply Lubricant
    • Lift one side of the belt and apply a small line of lubricant underneath the belt,
directly onto the running deck from front to back. Repeat on the other side.
  4. Spread Lubricant
With the power off, manually walk on the belt to spread the lubricant evenly
    across the running deck.
  5. Run the Belt
    • Plug in the KICKR Run and turn it on.
    • Set the speed to a low setting (e.g., walking pace).
    • Allow the belt to run for a few minutes to distribute the lubricant evenly across the
      running surface.
  6. Check Tension and Alignment
    • After lubricating the belt, check the tension and alignment as described in KICKR RUN Belt Alignment and Tension.
    • Ensure the belt has the appropriate tension and is centered on the rollers.
  7. Clean Excess Lubricant
    • Wipe away any excess lubricant that may have dripped onto the frame or floor
using a clean cloth or towel.
