Planned workout mode [RUN]

What is it?

Planned / structured workout mode is used to allow a structured running workout with pace (and sometimes grade) targets, imported into a compatible app, to control and automatically change the pace and grade of the KICKR RUN to match the target pace or grade in different intervals throughout the workout.

How does it work?

Using a compatible app to control the KICKR RUN (at this time, the Wahoo app), ensure the KICKR RUN is connected, select your desired structured running workout from Home > Running Workouts, confirm the workout profile is set to Treadmill Running and KICKR RUN is connected as the controlled device, and start the workout.

Run to match the pace of the belt, confirming any pace or pace/grade interval changes by pressing the Speed (right) paddle forward when prompted.  For safety, each pace and pace/grade interval change must be confirmed by pressing the paddle forward to confirm the next interval change.

How to use it

  1. Pair the KICKR RUN to the Wahoo app as a sensor
  2. Select your preferred structured running workout from the Wahoo app.
    • Home > Running Workouts
    • Select Start Now to open the workout in the Wahoo app.
    • Alternately, you can import planned running workouts from TrainingPeaks or potentially other third party structured workout providers. For more details, see Planned Workouts [Wahoo app].
  3. Confirm the workout profile is set to Treadmill Running and the KICKR RUN appears as the data source for Speed, Cadence, and Controls.
  4. Start the activity.
  5. Run to match the pace of the belt.
  6. Confirm any pace or pace/grade interval changes by pressing the Speed (right) paddle forward when prompted.  For safety, each pace and pace/grade interval change must be confirmed by pressing the paddle forward to confirm the next interval change.

Notes

  • The left and right app interaction buttons will move forward or backward in among the data pages in the Wahoo app.
  • The center app interaction button will start a new lap.
  • Grade control can be toggled off using the Control button in the bottom right corner.
  • You can also adjust overall workout intensity or toggle terrain simulation mode on or off.
