Shipping mode
The KICKR RUN arrives in Shipping mode. In order to be able to test the device functionality without requiring a user to mount the treadmill, the Speed and Grade paddles will respond to input without a user detected by cadence or the time of flight sensor, but with a max pace of 12 minutes / mile (7.5 min / km) and RunFree mode disabled. In order to access the full functionality of the RUN, the primary user needs to complete the setup process in the Wahoo app for iOS or Android by scanning the QR code on the console and following the directions in app. Once fully functional, the control paddles will not respond to input unless a user is sensed on the treadmill.
Safety Key
The safety key consists of a clip tethered to a magnet. The clip should be attached to the user's shirt or waistband. The magnet should then be attached to the coordinating panel on the console. If the magnet is disconnected from the panel, the KICKR RUN will bring the belt to a complete stop if in use, or disable the control and prevent the belt from moving.
The safety key should always be attached to the user's shirt or waist band before starting the treadmill.
The safety key should always be stored separately from the KICKR RUN and out of reach of children when not in use.
Stop Button
The STOP button will bring will bring the KICKR RUN to a complete stop over several seconds. It is the best way to stop the belt during regular use or for emergency stopping.
Cadence Detection
If KICKR RUN does not detect regular footfall contact on the treadmill deck from running / walking, it will bring the belt to a complete stop.
Time of Flight Sensor
The time of flight sensor, an advanced optical sensor located below the STOP button in the middle of the console, will detect the presence and location of the user on the treadmill. If the sensor no longer detects the presence of a user, it will bring the belt to complete stop. If the sensor is obscured (by a towel or other object placed over the sensor), it will bring the belt to a complete stop if in use, or disable the control and prevent the belt from moving.
Structured Workout Control Mode
When following a structured workout in the Wahoo app, the KICKR RUN will automatically change the incline and belt speed to match the workout grade and pace targets. Each time a change in target pace is scheduled to occur, the user will be prompted to accept the new target pace by pressing the speed (right) paddle forward once. If the paddle is not pressed forward, the belt speed will remain at the pace target of the current interval.
