Charge the TRACKR RADAR

The TRACKR RADAR ships partially charged in a 'standby' mode.  For the best experience, use the provided USB-C cable and a known functional power adapter brick to charge the TRACKR to full charge before use. The TRACKR RADAR LED will flash while charging, and become solid green when fully charged.

Wake TRACKR RADAR for first use

Press the power button for 1+ seconds to turn TRACKR RADAR on.

LED status indicator light

The TRACKR RADAR has a small LED status indicator light that will flash and change colors dependent on a variety of circumstances. See TRACKR RADAR LED behavior for details.

TRACKR RADAR Light modes

To toggle between light modes, tap the power button of the TRACKR RADAR.

Mode memory

The last-used light mode (the one currently in use when the radar is powered off) is saved. When powered on, the same mode is activated by default.  This is a permanent feature and cannot be toggled on or off.

TRACKR RADAR special feature modes

In addition to radar alerts and basic light modes, the TRACKR RADAR offers several special feature modes which function without being connected to a GPS cycling computer or sport watch. These features are set to off by default and can only be enabled through the sensor menu when paired to the Wahoo app.  See Enable TRACKR RADAR special feature modes.

Brake light *

TRACKR RADAR uses an accelerometer to sense deceleration and function as a brake light, increasing luminosity when slowing down.**

Quick alert light* 

When TRACK RADAR detects an approaching vehicle, it changes the flash pattern and increases luminosity of the light.**

Battery saver mode*

TRACKR RADAR reduces the luminosity of the selected light mode to conserve battery whenever no vehicles are detected.**

*Not applicable in France and Norway – Both countries have regulatory restrictions on the use of flashing lights with bicycles.  While our lights can legally be used in both countries, if you live in or would visit and use the light in those countries you should familiarize yourself with the regulations regarding flashing lights and not enable the Brake light, Quick Alert light, or Battery Extender mode features in the Wahoo app when using the TRACKR RADAR in those jurisdictions.

TRACKR RADAR is not for sale in Germany.  As Germany has stringent regulations around flashing lights. In order to sell a taillight in Germany, a company must produce a German-market-specific light, without any capacity for flash, and with German certifications. Unfortunately the TRACKR RADAR is not available in Germany due to these constraints.

Care and Storage

Cleaning

The TRACKR RADAR light should be kept free of dirt and debris to make sure the LED's on the light are not obscured for maximum visibility.
The TRACKR RADAR light should be thoroughly dry and the charging port clear of debris before attaching the charging cable.

Storage

After 30 minutes of inactivity, the TRACKR RADAR will enter a low power standby mode.

The TRACKR RADAR can be stored fully attached to or separate from the mount. 
As with most lithium ion batteries, in order to optimize battery life, the unit should be stored long-term with at least 30% charge.

What is TRACKR RADAR?

TRACKR RADAR is Wahoo’s an all-in-one Cycling Radar & Tail Light that offers real-time vehicle detection, adaptive lighting, and seamless integration with ELEMNT GPS bike computers and other bike computers and watches compatible with the ANT+ Radar standard.

Compatibility

Is TRACKR RADAR Bluetooth and ANT+ Compatible?

Yes, TRACKR HEART RATE supports up to 3 simultaneous Bluetooth connections and is ANT+ compatible. For normal use, an ANT+ Radar compatible cycling computer or sport watch is required.  The TRACKR RADAR will pair as an ANT+ sensor.

Is TRACKR RADAR compatible with other charging cables?

The TRACKR RADAR includes a USB-C to USB-C charging cable. The TRACKR RADAR's charging port uses a standard USB-C interface. Remember to regularly check the cable and receiver port for debris.

Is TRACKR RADAR compatible with my cycling computer?

TRACKR RADAR uses the ANT+ Radar standard and is compatible with GPS cycling computers and sport watches that support the ANT+ Radar standard.  In order to remotely control the light modes, the control device must also support the ANT+ Smart light standard.

• TRACKR RADAR is compatible with all Wahoo ELEMNT GPS computers. 
• Gen 1 ELEMNT computers (ELEMNT, BOLT 1, ROAM 1) do not support ANT+ Smart light controls.
• It is not compatible with the ELEMNT RIVAL watch.
  

Can I use the TRACKR RADAR with a phone app instead of a cycling computer?

No, the TRACKR RADAR requires a cycling computer or sport watch that supports the ANT+ Radar standard.

There are no known apps that the TRACKR RADAR could be used with in place of a compatible ANT+ compatible cycling computer or watch. The only app capable of pairing to the TRACKR RADAR is the Wahoo app, which is limited to supporting the unit with settings toggles and firmware updates. It does not receive alerts from the radar for use while riding.

How do I mount the TRACKR RADAR?

The TRACKR RADAR includes a seatpost mount kit with 3 rubber inserts for use with round, aero or D-shaped seatposts. The mount kit also comes with a longer strap for larger diameter seatposts. 

Spare mount kits are available for sale at wahoofitness.com and compatible alternative mounts can be purchased from KOM Cycling. Be sure to select the Wahoo TRACKR compatible version.

Please note the TRACKR RADAR uses the Wahoo computer quarter turn mounting standard, different from the pre-existing Garmin mounting standard.

What do the LEDs on the TRACKR RADAR indicate?

Does the TRACKR RADAR require another device to be used? Can it be used on its own?

The TRACKR RADAR is intended to be used with a compatible ANT+ compatible cycling computer or sport watch to display radar alerts for approaching vehicles. If used independently, it will still function as a conventional tail light (with the optional additions of Brake light, Quick alert light, and Battery saver features).

Does TRACKR RADAR provide audio notifications?

The TRACKR RADAR does not itself provide audio notifications, the ANT+ compatible cycling computer or watch will need to be configured to provide audible alerts while riding with the TRACKR RADAR.

Is the TRACKR RADAR waterproof?

The TRACKR RADAR is IPX7 rated and can be submerged in water up to 1 meter for 30 minutes without any damage to the unit as long as the charging port cover is closed securely.
