Light modes
The TRACKR RADAR functions as a basic bicycle taillight, with the 4 different light modes, toggled by tapping the power button on top of the unit.
To toggle between light modes, tap the power button of the TRACKR RADAR.
Model | Lumens | Battery life (Up to Hrs) |
High Steady | 21 | 10 |
Low Steady | 10 | 15 |
High Flash | 53 | 15 |
Low Flash | 18 | 20 |
Mode memory
The last-used light mode (the one currently in use when the radar is powered off) is saved. When powered on, the same mode is activated by default. This is a permanent feature and cannot be toggled on or off.
TRACKR RADAR special feature modes
In addition to radar alerts and basic light modes, the TRACKR RADAR offers several special feature modes which function without being connected to a GPS cycling computer or sport watch. These features are set to off by default and can only be enabled through the sensor menu when paired to the Wahoo app. See Enable TRACKR RADAR special feature modes.
Brake light*
TRACKR RADAR uses an accelerometer to sense deceleration and function as a brake light, increasing luminosity when slowing down.**
Quick alert light*
When TRACK RADAR detects an approaching vehicle, it changes the flash pattern and increases luminosity of the light.
Battery saver mode*
TRACKR RADAR reduces the luminosity of the selected light mode to conserve battery whenever no vehicles are detected.**
*Not applicable in France and Norway – Both countries have regulatory restrictions on the use of flashing lights with bicycles. While our lights can legally be used in both countries, if you live in or would visit and use the light in those countries you should familiarize yourself with the regulations regarding flashing lights and not enable the Brake light, Quick Alert light, or Battery Extender mode features in the Wahoo app when using the TRACKR RADAR in those jurisdictions.
***TRACKR RADAR is not for sale in Germany. As Germany has stringent regulations around flashing lights. In order to sell a taillight in Germany, a company must produce a German-market-specific light, without any capacity for flash, and with German certifications. Unfortunately the TRACKR RADAR is not available in Germany due to these constraints.
ANT+ radar integration with ELEMNT GPS computers and other compatible computers or sport watches
The core of the TRACKR RADAR experience is pairing the unit to a compatible GPS computer or smart watch to receive dynamic alerts about vehicles as they approach the rider from behind.
TRACKR RADAR is compatible with devices that support the ANT+ RADAR standard. These include GPS cycling computers and a limited number of sport watches.
There are no known apps that the TRACKR RADAR could be used with in place of a compatible ANT+ compatible cycling computer or watch. The only “compatible” app is the Wahoo app, which is limited to settings and firmware updates, not actual use/riding.
How vehicle location and alerts appear/sound on a third party device is dependent the settings/feature implementation of the ANT+ Radar standard of the respective computer or sport watch.
For more details about the ANT+ radar experience with different devices, see
- Use TRACKR RADAR with a Gen 3 ELEMNT GPS cycling computer [ACE, BOLT 3, or ROAM 3]
- Use TRACKR RADAR with Gen 2 ELEMNT GPS cycling computer [BOLT 2 or ROAM 2]
- Use TRACKR RADAR with a Gen 1 ELEMNT GPS cycling computer [ELEMNT, BOLT1, or ROAM1]
- Use TRACKR RADAR with a third party cycling computer or sport watch
ANT+ smart light integration with ELEMNT GPS computers and other compatible computers
In addition to being a radar sensor, the TRACKR RADAR is an ANT+ Smart light, which means the light modes of the unit can be manually remotely controlled by a compatible GPS cycling computer, and in some cases, automatically be turned on/off.
Gen 1 ELEMNT computers [ELEMNT, BOLT 1, and ROAM 1] do not have ANT+ Smart light compatibility,
