In order to enable KICKR RUN grade control in free run (Just Run) mode in Zwift, you must
- Have a paid subscription to Zwift
- Pair the KICKR RUN to Zwift as Controllable in Paired Devices and
- Enable Incline control in Zwift Hardware settings
Note: Zwift does not currently support app control of the treadmill belt speed in structured workouts. Treadmill grade control is also disabled in Zwift structured workouts.
In both free run and structured workout modes, you can either manually control the KICKR RUN's belt speed or use RunFree mode. For more information on controlling the KICKR RUN while using Zwift, see:
Pair the KICKR RUN to Zwift for grade control
In the Paired Devices screen,
- Select RUN (as opposed to RIDE).
- Select Run Speed, Cadence, and Controllable.
- Select KICKR RUN for each connection type.
- Read and confirm the safety announcement.
- Confirm that the KICKR RUN is paired for Run Speed, Cadence, and Controllable.
- Select OK.
Enable grade / Incline control in Zwift hardware settings
From the Home screen,
- Select your Profile icon in the right section of the header.
- Select My settings.
- In the Settings menu pop-up, select Hardware.
- To enable grade control, toggle Incline Control On.
- This will enable positive (0 to +15%) grade control by Zwift courses.
- To enable downhill grade control (0 to -3%), also toggle Downhill Incline Control On.
- Select OK.
Zwift disables grade control in structured workouts. Grade control exists in free run (Just Run) mode only.
Test Zwift grade control in free run mode
To quickly test Zwift's control of grade in free run mode, we suggest running a short dynamic Route in Zwift like Loop de Loop.
From the Home screen,
- Select Routes.
- Scroll down to select Loop de Loop
- Select Start Run.
