Moving a KICKR RUN

Within a room

The following directions are to move a KICKR RUN within a room that doesn't require lifting the entire unit. Within these instructions, you will only attach and use the two rear shipping handles, using the front wheels of the unit to manoeuvre the unit.

Requirements

To reposition a KICKR RUN within the same room, you will need:

  • At least two people, prepared to safely lift the rear of the 400 lb treadmill only a few inches and roll it using the wheels attached to the front feet.
  • 2x rear carry handles (that were removed and left with you at installation*).
  • 4x 6mm hex bolts (that were removed and left with you at installation*).
  • A 6mm hex key.
  • If the treadmill is placed directly on a delicate floor, a pair of rags, pieces of cardboard, or some other material to place between the carry handle frame and the floor when bolting them in place.

*If the two rear carrying handles were not left with you, or you have misplaced or discarded them, please contact our support team to acquire replacements.

Instructions

  1. Adjust the incline of the deck to 0* using the left paddle.
  2. Turn off the KICKR RUN and disconnect the power cord from the from the wall outlet and the treadmill. Set the power cord aside.
  3. Remove both rear plastic side covers by pressing gently on the side of the cover and sliding it backward. Note the location and angle at which they are removed.  There will be some resistance as they are clipped in place. Set the covers aside.
  4. From the back of the treadmill, pull up on the deck. You should feel the gas struts attached to the rear feet extend, raising the deck slightly.  They will naturally compress down again slowly.
  5. Install the rear carry handles, with each handle facing toward the rear of the treadmill, using 2x 6mm hex bolts and the 6mm hex key. You may need to pull up on the deck again, or have someone hold it fully extended while bolting on the first carry handle.

  1. With both carry handles securely bolted in place, have one person lift the rear of the treadmill from each side, off the ground by a few inches, and using the wheels on the front legs, maneuver the treadmill into the desired position.

  1. Again pull up on the deck (and hold up as necessary) to allow the carry handle bases to clear the floor as you unbolt/remove them.
  2. Carefully line up the rear plastic side covers underneath the running boards, and slide them back into place, ensuring they are aligned before applying force to avoid breaking the clips.
  3. Reconnect the power cord first to the treadmill, then to the wall outlet, and turn the KICKR RUN back on.

To another room

The following directions are to move a KICKR RUN to another room, with a large enough egress so as not to turn the unit on its side, that will require lifting the entire unit (over a step etc). Within these instructions, you will attach all four of the shipping handles and side supports in order to allow for four people to assist in lifting the unit.

Requirements

To disassemble and attach the shipping handles for moving a KICKR RUN, you will need:

  • At least four people, prepared to safely lift the 400 lb treadmill
  • 2x rear carry handles (that were removed and left with you at installation*)
  • 8x 6mm hex bolts (that were removed and left with you at installation*)
  • 4x 14mm hex bolts (that were removed and left with you at installation*)
  • A 6mm, 8mm, 10mm, and 14mm hex key
  • If the treadmill is placed directly on a delicate floor, rags, pieces of cardboard, or some other material to place between the carry handle frame and the floor, when bolting them in place.

*If the two rear carrying handles were not left with you, or you have misplaced or discarded them, please contact our support team to acquire replacements.

Instructions

  1. Adjust the incline of the deck to 0% using the left paddle.
(Note: when reassembling, carefully line up the rear plastic side covers underneath the running boards, and slide them back into place, ensuring they are aligned before applying force to avoid breaking the clips.)

  1. Slowly pull the console out, revealing the internal paddle wiring. Gently unplug the wiring harnesses. Do this by gently lifting up the small plastic clip fastening the two ends together and sliding them apart (as seen in the first two images below)
  2. Continue to slide the console back to remove it.
  3. Remove the bottom cap to the right side stanchion. This is inserted into the bottom of the stanchion arm (as seen in the 3rd image below), and you simply need to pull down on this, then slide it out. It may take two hands, as they can be slightly stiff.
  4. Gently unplug the wiring harness located at the base of the stanchion arm. Do this by gently lifting up the small plastic clip fastening the two ends together and sliding them apart

  1. Remove the side stanchion bolts (10mm hex key) and side stanchion arms (note: the stanchion arms are quite heavy).
  2. Install the middle shipping handle (14mm hex key).

  1. Team lift the end of the KICKR RUN and use a furniture dolly to keep the RUN lifted.
  2. Install the rear end shipping handles on both sides of the treadmill (long handle - 8mm hex key).
  3. Install the front end shipping handles on both sides of the treadmill (short handle - 8mm hex key).

With all carry handles securely bolted in place, have one person lift from each of the shipping handles, or using the wheels on the front legs, manoeuvre the treadmill into the desired position.

Simply perform these steps in reverse in order to assemble the KICKR RUN once it is in its desired location. Once in position and reassembled, reconnect the power cord first to the treadmill, then to the wall outlet, and turn the KICKR RUN back on.

Beyond a room

If you are looking to relocate the KICKR RUN to another location that cannot be done so by the instructions above (upstairs, to another house for example) or it will require disassembly and obscure movement, we suggest reaching out to Fitness Machine Technicians or National Assemblers (within the US) for an approved service provider for in-house moves and beyond. If your KICKR RUN is located within the United Kingdom, Austria, or mainland Germany, please contact our support team
