Account, Athlete Profile, and App Settings
As an extension of the Wahoo app for your iPhone, there are a wide variety of settings that affect the Wahoo app on the Apple Watch's behavior that are configured in the Wahoo app on your iPhone.
Settings changes made in the Wahoo app on your phone will automatically make changes to the Wahoo app on Apple Watch with respect to your workout profiles settings and data fields, and heart rate, power, and pace zones.
Settings can be configured on the Account/Setting page, which is accessed from the profile icon in the upper left corner of the Today tab in the Wahoo app on your iPhone.
The Account and Settings page contains the following:
Account and Athlete Profile Settings
- Biometric profile (accessed from the panel with your profile icon and name)
- Wahoo membership status
- Athlete profile (separate Cycling and Running profiles)
- Zones

Account and Athlete Profile Settings
Biometric Profile
The identity and biometric data setting is found in the top tab of the Account page behind your name and email address.
Heart rate, Power, and Pace Zones
Heart rate zones
The heart rate zone settings can be found in the second section of the Account page under Settings. You can now create multiple heart rate zone sets, (allowing for distinct zone sets for cycling, running, and swimming) and assign each set to different Workout profiles. The heart rate zone data can now be auto-calculated from a Threshold Heart Rate (THR) value. The Half Monty fitness assessment in our SYSTM training platform is great way to calculate an accurate THR value.
If creating a new account, the default zones set will be auto-calculated from biometric data (age).
For more information see HR, Power and Pace zones [Wahoo app]
Power zones
The power zone settings are found in the Profile tab. You can now create multiple power zone sets, (allowing for distinct zone sets for cycling and running) and assign each set to different Workout profiles.
Running Pace zones
Athlete profile
Rider type is found in the middle of the Profile page, by tapping on the snail card image. The Wahoo app now displays your 4DP Rider Type as identified by the Full Frontal fitness assessment in our SYSTM training platform.
For more information see Athlete Profile [Wahoo app]
App Settings
Workout profiles
Workout profiles are found in the third section of the Profile page under the Settings portion. Only some workout profile types are available for the Wahoo app for Apple Watch.
Workout Profiles linked to your Wahoo account are shared between the Wahoo app for iPhone, the Wahoo app for Apple Watch, and (where relevant) any ELEMNT computers you have paired to the Wahoo app.
Because of this, any change you make to workout profile settings or page configurations will affect the workout profile in each of those contexts. If you plan to use a ROAM computer while cycling sometimes, and other time use the Wahoo app for Apple Watch, but want to use different settings or page layouts in each context, you may want to duplicate the Cycling workout profile, rename one of them, and customize it for the Apple Watch.
For more information, see Workout Profiles [Wahoo app]
Authorized apps
Authorized or Connected apps can be found in the Profile tab in third section under the Settings options.
You can toggle on the ability to auto-email yourself your workout as a .FIT file upon workout completion.
Once authorized, the service will show as authorized and note what functions that 3rd party app is able to provide in this app.
Workouts will upload to third parties once they have successfully synced from the Apple Watch to the Wahoo app.
For more information, see Authorized Apps [Wahoo app].
Sensor management
All sensor management for the Wahoo app on Apple Watch is done on the Watch.
To access the sensor management menu open the app > swipe over to the Ready to Workout Page > select the sensor icon in the bottom right hand corner to open the sensor menu.
The Wahoo app on Apple Watch will automatically show any available sensors. They can be paired by tapping on them, and forgotten by tapping them again.
For more information see Wahoo app for Apple Watch Sensor Management.
Recording a workout/activity
To record a workout open the Wahoo app on the Apple Watch to the Home page and select the workout profile that you want to use.
To start the workout, push the start button in the bottom middle of the screen from the Ready to Record page. Quick touch settings for the workout profile can be found in the top right, synced planned workouts in the bottom left, and sensor management in the bottom right.
For more information, see Recording an Activity on the Wahoo app for Apple Watch.
For planned workouts see Planned workouts in Wahoo app for Apple Watch.
Reviewing workout/activity history
All workout and activity history review can be found in the Wahoo app on the device paired to the Apple Watch.
Any unsynced workouts (if the phone has not been connected to the watch) can be seen from the Account page, which can be found by swiping to the right from the Home page.
The Wahoo app on Apple Watch does have a condensed workout view. For the full details see Activity History on Wahoo app for Apple Watch.
The History and Statistics metrics have been combined into a single History tab that allows for filtering statistical data by time periods and workout profiles. Individual activity details now offer a richer experience of summary data with the ability to filter graph components by data type or period.
