Recording an Activity on the Wahoo app for Apple Watch

Home page

To record a new activity, start by opening the Wahoo app on your Apple Watch. The landing page when the app is opened is the Home page.

From here, you can access the sensor pairing menu from the icon in the bottom right, and tapping on a workout profile will bring up the start page.

Workout Profile Settings

Certain workout profile settings can be configured on Settings page, accessed by the Settings (gear icon) in the upper right corner of the Ready to Record page.

These settings are specific to the workout profile you have currently selected.

Workout Profiles linked to your Wahoo account are shared between the Wahoo app for iPhone, the Wahoo app for Apple Watch, and (where relevant) any ELEMNT computers you have paired to the Wahoo app.

Because of this, any change you make to workout profile settings or page configurations will affect the workout profile in each of those contexts. If you plan to use a ROAM computer while cycling sometimes, and other time use the Wahoo app for Apple Watch, but want to use different settings or page layouts in each context, you may want to duplicate the Cycling workout profile, rename one of them, and customize it for the Apple Watch.

Workout Profile settings that can be changed are Countdown, Auto Pause, and Auto Lap.

Workout Pages

Workout Controls

The Workout Controls page is to the far left in the workout page carousel. From this page, you can Pause and then End a workout, access Settings, Planned Workouts, and Sensors

The icons for Workouts and Sensors will be highlighted in green if a planned workout is selected, or if external sensors are paired.

Pages and Data Fields

Workout pages in the Wahoo app for Apple Watch can be configured to show up to 6 data fields and you can rotate the Watch's digital crown (dial) to show all 6, or progressively "zoom in" to show only 1 data field, mirroring the Perfect Zoom feature from ELEMNT GPS bike computers.

By ordering the six fields from first to least important (1 > 6), less important fields are removed from the display as you zoom in.

Certain data fields will also include color to make them more immediately understandable on the display, mirroring the zone color palettes on ELEMNT computers.

Laps

You can trigger a lap by selecting the workout icon button in the top left of the screen (that changes for activity type), or from the Workout Controls page.

The Lap page will only become visible after the first lap has been recorded and a second lap is started.

The Lap Summary Alert appears each time after the lap button is pressed. It will show a summary of the data from the previous lap.

The Lap List page shows a short summary of each lap, in descending order. The current lap is highlighted on top. This page is also only visible after the first lap has been ended and a second lap is started.
