What do I need to use the KICKR?

The accessories required for the KICKR depend on your use case.

Power (electrical)

To start, the KICKR must be plugged in to provide resistance so you'll at least need access to a standard electrical outlet.

Power, Speed, and Cadence Data

To get power, speed (simulated), and cadence readings from a KICKR, you will need:
  1. A compatible bicycle (see: compatible bikes) AND
  2. A compatible iOS or Android Bluetooth enabled device with an app to read data

Trainer Control

For the ultimate experience (full data monitoring and resistance control) you'll need the following:
  1. A compatible bicycle (see: compatible bikes)
  2. A device to control the KICKR. These devices include:
  • Apple devices running iOS 16 or newer OR
  • Android device on Android 10 or newer with Bluetooth (see: compatible devices) OR
  • Mac computers with built in Bluetooth 4.0+ OR
  • Windows PCs with an ANT+ USB dongle (compatibility varies by software platform - check individual websites for compatibility) OR
  • ELEMNT bicycle computers or RIVAL smart watch
  • A heart rate sensor like of our TICKR HRMs.
  • Note: the KICKR can be controlled with ANT+ or Bluetooth devices (KICKR firmware version 1.1.2 and newer) but can only be updated via Bluetooth.
