  • Added: Updated Wind Dynamics (ELEMNT ACE)

    Wind Dynamics gets a significant upgrade. Wind Impact is now the primary wind value — showing directly how much a headwind, tailwind, or draft is affecting your speed, no mental math required. New supporting fields including Potential Speed, Wind Grade, and Resistance Ratio give you a fuller picture of how wind and grade are shaping your ride.

    A new dedicated Wind page brings all of this together in one place, and the Map page wind widget now shows Wind Impact (green for tailwind, red for headwind). Post-ride, your Wind Dynamics summary now includes a Resistance Ratio breakdown showing how much of your effort went toward fighting wind vs. climbing.

  • Added: Custom Waypoints on ELEMNT – Riders can now see and be alerted to custom waypoints like water stops, food, hazards, or rest areas added in Strava, Komoot, or Ride with GPS. For more details, see Custom Waypoints and POIs on ELEMNT ACE, BOLT 3, and ROAM 3.
  • Smarter Ride Guidance – Waypoints appear on the map, cue sheet, or a dedicated Waypoints Page with alerts for name, distance, and elevation change. Riders can even route directly to a selected waypoint for a more direct path to their next stop.
  • Flexible & Clear Views – Toggle waypoint visibility to keep maps uncluttered and ride with confidence, knowing all your planned stops and notes sync seamlessly to your ELEMNT.
  • Note for Strava Users (Gen 3 Devices): To enable custom waypoints on Strava routes, riders must first update their device firmware, then reprocess routes by wiping routes from their device, syncing to Wi-Fi, deauthorizing and reauthorizing the Strava–Wahoo App connection, and re-downloading their route library. Enhanced security measures

  • Added: Pairing to a phone now requires a matched PIN code to be accepted on both devices to establish a secure connection.
    • Added: Optional passcode lock – Protect your ELEMNT and personal data by adding a passcode; you can add, change and remove a passcode from the Device Settings menu on your ELEMNT computer.
    • If a passcode is set, ELEMNT will be locked after powering on, or by manually locking from the Device Settings menu.
    • Option to add the passcode lock has been added as a final step in the onboarding process.
    • Passcode can be removed remotely using a currently connected instance of the Wahoo app.
    • Factory reset now requires passcode verification, if enabled.

  • Updated: USB access is now disabled by default, and must be enabled via an Allow USB access toggle in Wahoo app > Devices > elemntcomputer > Settings
  • Updated: completed ride FIT file are no longer accessible via USB

Map theme changes

  • Added: New map layer that allows bike lanes to be enabled/disabled
  • Updated: Map layers user interface
  • Updated: Map theme has been adjusted to increase contrast, improve color variance, and remove visual clutter at certain zoom levels
  • Updated: The order of the navigation chevrons and user history line on the map has been switched

User interface / notifications / data fields

  • Added: Skin temperature is now available as a configurable data field and is recorded in FIT files
  • Updated: Order of Settings menu pages (BOLT3 only)
  • Updated: Minor user interface adjustments in the Device Settings menu and its sub pages
  • Updated: Ride started notification now shows which workout profile is currently being used
  • Updated: Phone notifications indicator (red circle) in the status bar is no longer shown for system notifications
  • Updated: Elevation, GPS Accuracy, and GPS Heading data fields on workout data pages now display "--" while acquiring a GPS signal
  • Updated: Distance Remaining and Distance to Cue data fields on the map page are no longer shown until a GPS signal has been acquired
  • Updated: Shifter battery data field has been updated for improved visibility

Bug fixes and stability improvements

  • Fixed: Pressing the up/down buttons to zoom on the map page now works before acquiring a GPS signal
  • Fixed: Menu pagination dots accurately reflect the page count after powering device on (BOLT3 only)
  • Fixed: Sensors that are no longer available are not shown in the Pair Sensor list
  • Fixed: Elevation graph not fully visible along the y-axis
  • Fixed: Selecting a route now returns you to the menu
  • Fixed: Targets of some SYSTM workouts not being processed properly
  • Fixed: Banner displayed when an approaching a Summit Segment climb now has the correct climb category color
  • Fixed: Planned workouts with both power and cadence targets now show the correct minimum value in their corresponding data field
  • Fixed: Banner is displayed confirming a planned workout has been loaded
  • Fixed: Custom alerts that are set to trigger on lap no longer show an alert immediately upon starting ride
  • Fixed: Wheel circumference setting now shows correct value for speed sensors
