The KICKR Bridge enables the KICKR CORE 2 and KICKR BIKE PRO to serve as a sensor bridge or hub for heart rate monitors and Zwift controllers. Using the KICKR Bridge allows customers to take advantage of the trainer or BIKE's Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or Direct Connect connection to stream sensor data to computers, smart TVs, and other devices as a single connection, freeing up channels on devices with limited Bluetooth connections.
How the KICKR Bridge feature is used depends on the training app with which it is used. Currently, for all apps other than Zwift, a single heart rate monitor can be paired and stored in the KICKR CORE 2 or KICKR BIKE Pro's firmware via the Wahoo app, so that the paired heart rate monitor's data is accessible to a third party training app by pairing the trainer/BIKE as the heart rate monitor data source in that app.
For Zwift, a heart rate monitor and/or compatible Zwift controllers* can be bridged through the trainer or BIKE using the Zwift game pairing screen. The Zwift game ignores the heart rate monitor stored in the trainer/BIKE's firmware, but once a CORE 2 or BIKE PRO on current firmware is selected in the Zwift pairing screen, Zwift will have the trainer search and bridge any available compatible heart rate monitors and/or Zwift controllers. The desired heart rate monitor can then be selected in the heart rate data source pairing screen by selecting the name of the heart rate monitor with the trainer icon beside it. The same can be done with a compatible controller set.
*Only Zwift Click v2, Zwift Ride frame controllers and Zwift Play controllers are compatible with the KICKR Bridge feature. Zwift Play controllers must be on firmware 2.0.1 or newer.
For use with apps other than Zwift

For use with Zwift
Connect a bridged heart rate monitor or controllers to Zwift
As described above, the Zwift game does not use the heart rate monitor stored in the CORE 2 / BIKE PRO's firmware as described above. Completing the process above for use with other apps will not interfere with Zwift, so there is no reason to avoid pairing a heart rate monitor as described above.
To connect a heart rate monitor and/or compatible controller set to the Zwift game via a CORE 2 / BIKE PRO KICKR Bridge:
- Ensure your CORE 2 / BIKE PRO's firmware is up to date by pairing it to the Wahoo app.
CORE 2 -- 2.5.4 or 3.5.4, BIKE PRO -- 3.2.14. - Once updated, ensure your Zwift game is updated to at least version 104 or higher.
- Ensure that your preferred heart rate monitor is installed and awake.
- Plug in the CORE 2 / BIKE PRO and pair it to the Zwift game as a power source. If the device you are running the Zwift game on is Wi-Fi enabled and your Wi-Fi is stable, we would suggest pairing the trainer / BIKE via Wi-Fi.
- Select the heart rate data source pairing menu.
- Look for your heart rate monitor's Bluetooth or ANT+ ID with a trainer icon beside it, rather than the normal Bluetooth or ANT+ symbol. Then select Close.
-
Select the controllers data source pairing menu and select your Zwift Click v2 or Ride controllers with a trainer icon beside them, rather than the normal Bluetooth or ANT+ symbol. Then select Close.
Compatible Zwift controllers can only be bridged using the Zwift game pairing screen. Zwift controllers may appear in the sensor discovery screen of the KICKR Bridge in the Wahoo app, but cannot be added there. Already bridged Zwift controllers may also appear here, but cannot be removed or added in the Wahoo app interface. Manipulating them here may damage the connection in Zwift. If manipulated in the Wahoo app, the Wahoo app should be force closed, the trainer unplugged for 30 seconds, and then the connection re-established in the Zwift game.
