Text, call, and email notifications for ELEMNT ACE, BOLT 3, and ROAM 3

When enabled, text, call, and email notifications from compatible apps will be forwarded to your ELEMNT ACE, BOLT 3, or ROAM 3, resulting in a limited text panel appearing at the bottom of the current computer page and a beep. If the notification is not manually dismissed, it will then appear on the Notifications page within the Settings menu pages.

  • No other devices capable of receiving message notifications actively connected to your phone

    • This should have been confirmed during the initial onboarding process. If you denied the permission, see troubleshooting below.

  1. Navigate to Wahoo app > Devices > computer name > Settings > Notifications
  2. Toggle on Show messages, Show phone calls, and/or Show emails as desired for visual alerts.
  3. Toggle on Play sounds for notifications if you also wish the computer to beep when a notification is received.

Each notification toggle type (messages, phone calls, or emails) is persistent across all workout profiles for the computer for which they are enabled.

Use notifications

When a notification is received, a small banner will appear at the bottom of whatever screen you are on. If sounds are enabled, the computer will also beep.

Notifications will automatically time out after several seconds, but can be dismissed immediately using the DISMISS button.  If not dismissed, notifications will be stored in the Notifications page of the Settings pages until the computer is shut down or restarted.  Manually dismissed notifications will not appear on the Notifications page.

  1. Confirm you have the relevant alert type (messages, phone calls, emails) enabled in the Wahoo app > Devices > computer name > Settings > Notifications and Do not disturb is set to Off.
  2. Confirm you are using the phone's native messaging app or one of the others listed above.  You will NOT receive alerts for messages and emails received by other third-party apps not listed above.
  3. Confirm you do not have another device actively connected to your phone that can receive the notifications (your smart watch, your car, etc). Disable notifications on that other device to receive them on your ELEMNT computer.
  4. Confirm notifications are appearing in your iOS notifications center. This is required in order for the messages to be received by the ELEMNT, BOLT, or ROAM. If you do not see the message in the iOS notifications center, please check your iOS settings. This is also a sign notifications are being received by another device.
  5. Confirm that the following iOS settings are toggled on/selected
    1. iOS Settings > Notifications > Messages
    2. iOS Settings > Notifications > Phone

  6. Confirm your Wahoo app and computer firmware versions are up to date. Check for Wahoo  app updates in the iOS App store. See Update firmware on ELEMNT ACE, BOLT 3, or ROAM 3 for steps on how to update the computer firmware.
  7. Confirm that your computer has Share System Notifications enabled.
    1. iOS Settings > Bluetooth > computername > Share System Notifications
