Shifting Troubleshooting [KICKR BIKE]

1. Check to make sure the KICKR BIKE's shifter plugs are intact, clean, and fully connected by checking the cables as shown below:

  • Confirm that the shifter plugs are
    • not bent.
    • clean. Clean with isopropyl (rubbing) alcohol and dry with a clean cloth before re-inserting.
  • Check the condition of the plug receivers under the head control unit (HCU)

2. Check that you're up-to-date on KICKR BIKE firmware via the Wahoo Fitness app for iOS or Android.  Provided you have connected the BIKE to Wi-Fi, firmware updates should be automatic, but if you are somehow behind on a version, see How to Update Firmware on KICKR, BIKE, CORE, SNAP, and ROLLR

3. Confirm your BIKE shifter profile settings in the Wahoo app > Devices > KICKR BIKE > Bike Profiles

4. If only one shifter is having issues, try inserting the shifter plug into a different port in the HCU, and the other shifter plug into that port to confirm if the issue is with a specific shifter/cable or the HCU port.
