Mental Recovery Sessions

What is Mental Recovery?

Whether you are a professional, weekend warrior, or athlete with a part-time job, using tools to recover both your mind and body will help reduce stress, improve performance, and support your overall well-being. Our Mental Recovery system involves tools from both psychology and neuroscience, including protocols of guided breathing, binaural beats, subliminal priming, visualization, and self-talk, all integrated into a simple-to-use experience and organized into categories such as pre-workout priming, mindfulness and recovery, sleep better, and many more.

What is involved in Mental Recovery sessions?

  • Guided Breathing:  Mental recovery features a variety of different breathing protocols to support both performance and recovery including Box Breathing, Pranayama, 4-7-8, Step Up, and more.
  • Binaural Beats:  Binaural beats are special sound patterns that help your brain relax and recover. When you listen to slightly different tones in each ear, your brain blends them into one calming sound that creates an entrainment effect. This can help reduce stress, clear your mind, and support recovery after a workout or a busy day. All you need is a pair of headphones; just press play and let the sound do the work. Our recovery system uses different types of binaural beats, each designed to guide your brain into a more relaxed or focused state.
  • Visualization:  Visualization has been used by athletes for decades to improve readiness for competition. The recovery system presents visualization cues to get in the right headspace for training, competition, or relaxation.
  • Self-Talk Mantras: Self-talk mantras have been shown in recent studies to decrease the perception of effort and increase motivation during endurance-based sports. It consists of motivational phrases, or mantras, that you repeat in your mind at regular intervals. Our team has researched mantras used by professional athletes and mindfulness experts and loaded them into the app for easy access.
  • Subliminal Priming:  Humans are social animals and tend to take positive and negative cues from others.  In recent studies, subliminal priming has been shown to influence the perception of effort and improve mood and motivation. The recovery system consists of showing positive imagery in quick succession for a positive psychological effect.

Is Mental Recovery like Meditation?

The Mental Recovery program is a much easier alternative to meditation that incorporates breathing techniques, visual priming and other protocols allowing you to select the specific session you need at any given time. It is completely guided and will help you track your improvements during the session and over time. Think of it as a system designed using science, and targeted to your needs, to use the best parts of subliminal priming, breathwork, mantras and mindfulness to achieve an optimal state.

How often should I do a Mental Recovery Session?

Mental recovery sessions can be done as often as needed for a variety of reasons, whether you are tired from a long day at work, recovering from a hard training session, or looking for an aid to help you sleep or improve focus. These sessions are designed to support you on a 24-7 basis.
