On ELEMNT ACE, BOLT 3, and ROAM 3 users have the option to set a six digit numeric passcode to lock the computer. If declined in onboarding, the passcode can be set at any point later from the computer’s Device Settings page.
If a passcode is enabled, it must be entered at startup (or if the computer is manually locked) each time your ELEMNT computer is used, until the passcode is removed. Once a passcode is set, the computer cannot be accessed or factory reset without the current passcode.
Onboarding
- After completing the initial onboarding sequence, you will be given the option to set a passcode on your device.
- Select Yes to create a pass code, or No to confirm your choice to end the pass code creation process.
- If you select No, then select Yes to end the passcode process, or No to return to the previous screen.
- Enter the six digit code of your choice. Select the <X| or Delete button to delete your last selected digit, or Cancel to end the pass code creation process.
- Confirm your passcode by entering the same six digits. Any error will cause the status dots to turn red before resetting to allow you to try again.
Create passcode
The passcode creation process can be accessed from the Device Settings page > Settings > Create Passcode.
Lock ELEMNT
Once a passcode has been created, the ELEMNT will be locked at startup, and the passcode must be entered to access the computer. The ELEMNT can also be locked from the Device Settings page > Lock ELEMNT.
Change passcode
Once a passcode has been set, at any point, the passcode can be changed from the Device Settings page > Settings > Change Passcode. You will be prompted to enter your current passcode, and then continue on to the Create Passcode process described above.
- Select Change Passcode.
- Enter your current six digit passcode.
- Enter your new six digit passcode.
- Confirm the passcode.
Remove passcode
Provided you have the current passcode, a passcode can be removed at any time on the ELEMNT computer itself, or via the Wahoo app when actively connected to the ELEMNT computer.
Via ELEMNT computer
On the ELEMNT computer, the passcode can be changed from the Device Settings page > Settings > Remove Passcode.
- Select Remove Passcode.
- Select Remove to confirm passcode removal.
- Enter your current six digit passcode.
via Wahoo app
In the Wahoo app, the passcode can be removed by navigating to the Devices tab > elemntcomputer > Settings > Remove passcode.
BOLT 3 Passcode interface (no touchscreen)
Because BOLT 3 lacks a touchscreen, we designed a combination lock roller-style interface that allows the user to:
- increase/decrease current digit using the right side buttons
- select current digit using the front middle button
- delete the last selected digit using front right button
- cancel (back) the current passcode process using the front left button
In other respects, the passcode behavior is the same as ROAM 3 and ACE.
