Mount an ELEMNT ACE on a bicycle handlebars or stem

ELEMNT ACE out front mount

(Ships with ELEMNT ACE. Does NOT fit other Wahoo ELEMNT computers.)

The ELEMNT ACE out front mounts fit 31.8 mm clamp bars. Use a 3 mm hex key / allen wrench to free the bolt, place the mount around the bars, orient the mount to as close to level with the ground as possible (ideally < 5* to horizontal), and then tighten the bolt until it is snug. Due to the low weight of the computer, minimal torque is necessary and over-torquing can strip the threads.

We anticipate separate out front mounts to be available for purchase separately by April 2025.

Wahoo stem mount

(sold separately)

Alternately, you can use a Wahoo stem mount (sold separately) to secure the stem mount to either stem or handlebars. Orient the mount so the Wahoo logo can be read while riding the bike and insert the zip ties vertically or in an X pattern through the holes in the mount. Snug the zip ties and remove the excess.

In order to gain the most accurate data from the wind sensor, the ACE should be installed with the surface of the computer as close to horizontal to the ground as possible, ideally < 5* of horizontal.  Depending on your stem angle, stem mounting may make this impossible.

Third party mounts

Pre-existing third party mounts

Most mounts existing in market will not be large enough to accommodate the ACE's larger body.  In order to check if any existing mount in front of the handlebars could accommodate an ACE, confirm that there is 70mm of clearance from the center point of the mount to the front of the stem/handlebars (whichever protrudes most). The 70mm is required to clear the bottom left corner of the computer as it is rotated the quarter turn to lock into the mount.

ACE compatible third party mounts

The following third party mounts are known to be compatible with ELEMNT ACE. If you have questions about compatibility with another mount, please reach out to the manufacturer of that mount.

Mounting considerations

The mounts listed above are compatible with the ACE in that they will accommodate the size of ACE and the mounting puck should function correctly with the ACE's mount interface.

In order to gain the most accurate data from the wind sensor, the ACE should be installed with the surface of the computer as close to horizontal to the ground as possible, ideally < 5* of horizontal.

The weight of the ELEMNT ACE is 208 grams. The max weight capacity of a third party mount AND proprietary bar/stem combinations will vary by manufacturer.

Ultimately it is your responsibility to confirm that the third party mount and handlebar/stem system to which you wish to attach the mount can support the weight of the ACE and, in the case of accessory combo mounts, the weight of any accessory (light, camera, etc) you wish to mount.

Future options

We have shared ACE dimensions with many bicycle and mount manufacturers in preparation for launch. We anticipate compatibility will expand as new mounts come to market in 2025. We suggest contacting your respective bicycle manufacturer or preferred third party accessory manufacturer for details about potential future availability.

Installing the ELEMNT ACE into the mount

Once your preferred mount is installed on the bars or stem, place the ELEMNT with the top between 9 and 10 of the clock relative to the direction of the bike, push downward, and rotate the computer clock-wise until it snaps firmly into place.

FAQ

Will an ELEMNT computer fit in my Garmin mount?

No, the computers use similar, but not identical mount interfaces, and forcing your ELEMNT into a Garmin mount repeatedly will eventually break the mount tabs.  Some aftermarket mounts offer replaceable pucks that can convert Garmin mounts for safe use with an ELEMNT computer.

Will an ELEMNT ACE fit into an existing Wahoo out front mount?

No, the ACE will not fit into any pre-existing Wahoo out front mounts due to the increased size of the ACE.  The mount interface is identical, but the ACE requires further clearance (70 mm of clearance from the center point of the mount to the front of the stem/handlebars, whichever protrudes most). The 70mm is required to clear the bottom left corner of the computer as it is rotated the quarter turn to lock into the mount.

Installing the tether

The tether is made up of two closed loops.
The smaller loop should be inserted into a cavity in the left side of the bottom of the computer, looped around the bar in that cavity and pulled out the other side.
The larger loop should then be inserted into the smaller loop, securing the tether.
The tether can then be looped around the out front mount, stem, or handlebars, and the computer inserted through the tether to secure the computer.
