Authorize a 3rd party app for route / planned workout sync or completed ride upload [ELEMNT]

Requirements

  • Current ELEMNT app version
  • Current ELEMNT, BOLT, or ROAM firmware version
  • An internet connection for the ELEMNT app on your mobile device

Authorize a 3rd party app / link it to your Wahoo account

In the ELEMNT app:

  1. Select the Profile tab, then Authorized apps.
  2. Select the 3rd party routing app your wish to sync routes from (ex Komoot, RideWithGPS, Strava, or Trailforks) or upload completed ride data to (ex RideWithGPS, Strava, TrainingPeaks, etc)
  3. Enter your username / password or authenticate your account in the 3rd party app as prompted.

Setup Automatic Uploads

If you wish for a completed ride to be automatically uploaded to a 3rd party app/service once it is synced to the Wahoo cloud via the ELEMNT app or Wi-Fi, you must also have Automatic upload and the specific app/service toggled on in Settings.

With your ELEMNT paired and actively connected to the ELEMNT app--

  1. Select the Settings tab.
  2. Find and confirm Automatic upload is toggled on.
  3. Select that line item to open a submenu.
  4. Confirm that your desired 3rd party app is toggled on.

Troubleshooting

If you are having difficulty syncing routes from or uploading completed  rides, it is often the case that the Wahoo Cloud connection to the third party app as been damaged and needs to be reset.  In order to so, deauthorize/reauthorize your 3rd party account from the ELEMNT app.

Deauthorize / Reauthorize 3rd party app connection in the ELEMNT app

  1. Open the ELEMNT app
  2. Select the Profile tab
  3. Select Authorized Apps
  4. Select the 3rd party app no longer sharing.
  5. Select Deauthorize.
  6. Select the app again.
  7. Select Authorize or enter username and password to reauthorize the app connection.

For further route syncing issues

If trying to sync routes in bulk, remember that your computer has to be in range of a saved Wi-Fi network, as the routes are downloaded directly to the computer via Wi-Fi.
