How to install RPM Cadence on your bike
Using the Silicone Mount:
- Slide the Wahoo RPM Cadence pod into the silicone mount. Make sure the silicone covers the Wahoo logo and the opening is on the back of the Cadence Pod.
- Loosely thread one zip-tie through the slot on one side of the silicone mount and connect it around the crank, without tightening fully.
- Place the Wahoo RPM Cadence on the inside of the non-drive side crank arm (side without gears) as close to the center of rotation as possible without rubbing. Spin the crank around to make sure the Wahoo RPM Cadence does not interfere with the chain stay or rub other parts of your bike. Tighten once correct positioning is achieved.
- Slide the second zip-tie through, tighten, and trim the excess length on each zip-tie.
Using 3M double-sided tape:
- Ensure the RPM Cadence and the inside of the non-drive side crank arm are clean by wiping with isopropyl alcohol and a soft cloth.
- Peel off the tape's backing to expose one side of the tape and stick it on the back side of the Cadence Pod. Then remove the other side of the tape and stick the Cadence Pod to the inside of the non-drive side crank arm (side without gears) as close to the center of rotation as possible without rubbing, as shown below.
- Spin the crank arm to make sure the Wahoo RPM Cadence does not interfere with the chain stay or rub other parts of your bike.
Using the Shoe Mount:
- The shoe mount makes it easy to switch between bikes, shoes, or riders.
- Start by inserting the hard plastic mount in between the laces of your preferred cycling shoe, parallel to the length of your foot.
- With the logo facing upwards, insert the Cadence Pod into the mount and twist to secure, as shown below.
Pair to the Wahoo app
See Pair a sensor to the Wahoo app.
Your Wahoo RPM Cadence is now set up and ready for action. To use your Wahoo RPM Cadence, start a workout with one of the profiles you paired it with. The Wahoo Fitness app will remember this pairing in the future. You simply need to wake up your sensor and start a new workout to begin recording data!
NOTE: The Wahoo RPM Cadence uses a Blue LED to give instant feedback to the user during the pairing process. These LEDs operate for about 30 seconds before shutting off to conserve battery. The Blue LED represents your connection state and has three modes:
- Slow Blink (about once every second): Wahoo RPM Cadence is awake and not paired.
- 4x Flash: Occurs the instant a connection is made.
- Quick Blink (about twice every second): Wahoo RPM Cadence is paired to a device.
The Red LED represents wheel revolutions. You will see one red blink per crank turn.
* If a firmware update is available for your sensor, the Wahoo Fitness app will prompt you update before proceeding.

Want to connect to another app?
This product is compatible with a number of third party apps. However, each app connects to sensors a little differently. As a general rule: Open the compatible app you would like to use and find the settings. Look for "connect to sensor" or another similar option. You must connect each sensor separately for each app you use.
NOTE: Bluetooth devices can only pair to one app at a time. Make sure to close any background apps that may be using the sensor before connecting to a new app.
Maintenance and Troubleshooting
Cleaning
Should the Wahoo RPM Cadence require cleaning, use a moist soft cloth or similar to remove any debris. Strong cleaning agents and submersion in water (although waterproof) are not recommended, as these may damage the device or reduce its lifespan.
Replacing the battery
Wahoo recommends using Panasonic coin-cell batteries or another name brand without a bitter coating for optimal performance and tracking.
- Insert a flat-head screwdriver, coin, or other tool in the slot located on the side of the Wahoo RPM Cadence to twist and pop off the top cover.
- Remove the battery and replace it with another CR2032 coin cell battery.
- Place the lid back on the Wahoo RPM Cadence. Make sure the rubber O-ring is properly seated and the two posts on the bottom of the Wahoo RPM Cadence are lined up with the holes in the lid of the Wahoo RPM Cadence.
- Make sure the lid is snapped back into place and sealed completely around the outside. The LED light should start to flash showing that the battery has been replaced and the Wahoo RPM Cadence is awake.
