Set up a KICKR BIKE

The following article applies to the KICKR BIKE v1 (2019), KICKR BIKE v2 (2022), and KICKR BIKE PRO (2025). To identify your KICKR BIKE, see Identify a KICKR BIKE.

Requirements

A mobile device capable of running the current version of the Wahoo app for iOS or Android.
The Wahoo app for iOS or Android.
An active data connection (cell or Wi-Fi) for that mobile device.
An available 2.4 Wi-Fi network (for immediate firmware updates and Wi-Fi features / functionality)
A standard power source

Assembly

The KICKR BIKE assembly is recommended to be done with 2 individuals

Pairing to the WAHOO app

Open the Wahoo app.
Navigate to the Devices tab.
Select Pair new (or the + sign if another sensor is paired).
Select KICKR from the pop-up menu.
The Wahoo app will then proceed to search for available KICKRs
Select the correct KICKR
Your KICKR BIKE is now paired

Update the firmware

After the initial pairing, the KICKR BIKE will need to be updated either via Bluetooth or Wi-Fi connection

Customization

Fit

The WAHOO app will help you get an exact fit on your KICKR BIKE. The in-app fit calculation walks you through recreating your outdoor bike fit indoors using the Fit Wizard with basic and professional fit options

Once you have completed the assembly and setup of your KICKR BIKE, you will be prompted to create bike fit
Here, you will be given the option for a Basic FIT or a Professional FIT
You can either choose to do this now or later, depending on your preference
For a Basic FIT, you can input your inseam and choose your preferred riding position
From here, the Wahoo App will create a Basic FIT and the measurements to adjust your KICKR BIKE to.
If you wish to input measurements from a personal bike FIT, you can do this under the Professional bike FIT options.
Here you can choose to input measurements from a GURU, Retül, or. Trek bike FIT. The Wahoo App will generate the measurements to adjust your KICKR BIKE to.

Shifter Configuration

The WAHOO app allows you to choose your drivetrain option! Available drop bar shifter options are Shimano, SRAM, and Campagnolo.

Once you have set up your KICKR BIKE FIT, you can then set up your preferred shifter profile
With or without the KCIKR BIKE connected to the Wahoo App, select your KICKR BIKE from the devices menu.
Here, you should be able to select New profile under the Bike profiles menu.
Within this menu, you can customize your type of shifting group set, number of chainrings, and other gearing options to match your riding style and preference.
