Huawei issues with RGT

Problem

When placing RGT Cycling mobile app in the background and turning off the screen while riding, connection to RGT Screen and server may be lost.

 

Solution

Huawei has a special battery management build into their custom Android OS and it seems to be interfering with the connectivity of RGT Cycling mobile app to RGT Screen and our server by cutting off Bluetooth® (BLE) and also WiFi/LTE (mobile data) usage.

 

In order for RGT Cycling mobile app to function correctly, this feature must be disabled following these steps:

  1. Navigate to Settings → Battery → App launch

  2. Disable (Switch from Manage Automatically to Manage Manually) battery saving for 'RGT Cycling' app
