Routes - Sync from a third party route provider app / service [ACE]

You can sync your route library from a third party route app / service like komoot, RideWithGPS, Strava, and others by linking your account in the third party service to your Wahoo account.  Once linked, your route library will appear in the Wahoo app (and on the computer once a Wi-Fi sync has been completed).  If Wi-Fi is unavailable, once your route library is synced into the Wahoo app, you can sync/load individual routes onto a computer via Bluetooth.

Requirements

  • An ELEMNT ACE
  • A third party route provider app / service.
For more details on available third party route providers, see Wahoo App Partners.
  • Your computer paired and actively connected to the Wahoo app
  • An internet data connection (cell data or Wi-Fi) for your phone
  • A saved Wi-Fi connection (for direct Cloud > computer route library syncing)

How To

Authorize a third party app partner to sync routes

See Authorize an app partner to sync routes, planned workouts, completed rides, or segments

Load a single synced route from the Wahoo app to the computer

Once a third party account is linked, your route library (routes you have created in or linked to that account) should be linked to your Wahoo account, and appear in the Plan tab > My routes page of your Wahoo app.

  1. In the Wahoo app, select the Plan tab.
  2. Select My Routes.
  3. Select the Route.
  4. Select Send to ELEMNT.

The single route will be loaded onto the computer for immediate use.

Sync the third party route library to the computer via Wi-Fi

Once a third party account is linked, your third party route library (routes you have created in or linked to that account) should be linked to your Wahoo account, and whenever a Wi-Fi sync occurs (on computer warm-up, if a saved Wi-Fi network is in range) should be downloaded/updated onto the computer and remain there until the next Wi-Fi sync.

  1. While in range of a saved Wi-Fi network, navigate to the Routes page from the Ready to Ride panel or Settings: Ride page.
  2. Select Sync.
  3. The computer will attempt a Wi-Fi sync, download any routes that have been added/updated to your linked account since the last sync.

Notes/Troubleshooting

  • Your computer must be paired and actively connected to the Wahoo app to sync/load the route from the Wahoo app onto the computer via Bluetooth.
  • Routes that can be synced from a third party service like komoot, RideWithGPS, or Strava can often also be downloaded as files.  If the route is synced to your Wahoo account from your account with the third party service, route name, details, and deletion must be managed in the third party service app / web interface.  If you export the route to a file, download the file, and import it as described above into the Wahoo app, it can be renamed in / deleted from your Wahoo account.
