You can import a FIT, GPX, or TCX route file into the Wahoo app to create the route in your Wahoo account that will appear in the Wahoo app and on your computer (after being synced from the Wahoo app via Bluetooth or from the Wahoo Cloud via Wi-Fi).
Requirements
- An ELEMNT ACE
- Your computer paired and actively connected to the Wahoo app
- An internet data connection (cell data or Wi-Fi) for your phone
How To
- Download a compatible FIT, GPX, or TCX route file onto your phone.
- When prompted to choose which app to use to open the file, select Wahoo.
- When prompted 'Import file into Wahoo Fitness app?', select Yes.
- Select Close.
- In the Wahoo app, select the Plan tab.
- Select My Routes.
- Select the Route.
- Select Send to ELEMNT.
Alternately, you can select the Plan tab > My Routes > (+) Add button > Import a file to open your phone's file viewer and trigger the import process.
Notes/Troubleshooting
- Your computer must be paired and actively connected to the Wahoo app to sync/load the route from the Wahoo app onto the computer via Bluetooth.
- Your phone must have an internet data connection (cell data or Wi-Fi) so that the Wahoo app can upload the route file into the Wahoo Cloud to be converted into a viable route.
- If the app will not accept/process the file, it is either corrupted or not a viable file. You can try to re-download/import.
- Routes that can be synced from a third party service like komoot, RideWithGPS, or Strava can often also be downloaded as files. If you export the route to a file, download the file, and import it as described above into the Wahoo app, it can be renamed in / deleted from your Wahoo account. If the route is synced to your Wahoo account from your account with the third party service, route name, details, and deletion must be managed in the third party service app / web interface.
