      • OR Prompt you to download the Wahoo app and login with your existing, or create new Wahoo credentials.
      • If you already have a Wahoo account (used with a previous ELEMNT computer or the SYSTM app), you are welcome to use that.

Charge an ELEMNT computer

Use a wall charger / adapter, or a powered USB port to charge the computer.

  • a wall charger/adapter
    • 5 volt, 2+ amp
    • ideally a non-Apple charger
  • a powered USB port

Do not charge if there is moisture or debris in the charger cable or charging port in the ELEMNT computer. Doing so risks damage to the charging cable and/or computer.

Pair an ELEMNT ACE computer to the Wahoo app

Unlike previous ELEMNT computers, ELEMNT ACE uses the Wahoo app for iOS or Android to set up and customize various settings, features, and connections to third party apps/services. Functionality is extremely limited without it.

Connect ELEMNT ACE computer to Wi-Fi

ELEMNT ACE requires a direct internet-connected Wi-Fi connection for automatic workout uploads, firmware updates, route or map downloads, Strava Live Segment synchronization (coming soon) and other internet-enabled features

Update ELEMNT ACE computer firmware

Once paired to a local Wi-Fi network, you can initiate a firmware update on the ELEMNT computer itself.  Maintaining current firmware is the best way to ensure the computer is functioning as designed.
For the steps for manual firmware updates,

The ACE will also automatically do a Wi-Fi check and download any available firmware updates during the warm-up cycle (if in range of a saved Wi-Fi network). Updates will then be installed automatically during the shut down cycle (to prevent delaying use on start up).

Add, update, or delete Maps on ELEMNT ACE

ELEMNT ACE ships with all world maps, complete with all map layers, and 5+ GB of storage space remaining for routes, completed ride data, etc.  There is no reason to delete any map regions.

In the future, local maps will need to be updated periodically for full navigation functionality.  For details on how to add, update, or delete maps from your ACE,

Pair a sensor to ELEMNT ACE

ELEMNT ACE tracks speed and distance via the onboard GPS receiver, as well as elevation and temperature using the onboard barometric altimeter. For more precise and consistent speed readings in more challenging GPS environments, pair a speed speed sensor, or various other sensors or accessories (heart rate monitor, power meter, ANT+ radar) for extended data gathering and functionality.

Customize workout profiles and pages for ELEMNT ACE

Most pages (screens) of ELEMNT ACE computers contain customizable data fields, meaning that data fields can be added, changed, moved, or removed.  ELEMNT ACE has moved  to a Workout Profile system, where different sets of customized

Authorize a third party app for route or planned workout syncing or completed ride sharing

ELEMNT ACE has the ability to [1] import routes or structured workout plans and [2] share completed ride data with various third party apps / services (like Komoot, RideWithGPS, Strava, TrainingPeaks, and others). In order to enable these functions, you need to connect the third party service to your Wahoo account by authorizing them in the Authorized apps page of the Wahoo app (Today > Settings settingsicon.png> Authorized apps)
