Check optical tape SNAP [tsg]

Check Optical Tape

The SNAP uses an optical sensor and a white sticker on the inside edge of the flywheel to calculate flywheel speed.
With use, your KICKR SNAP may eventually collect dust, dirt, or grease on the optical tape read by the optical sensor.

This small piece of tape can be found by examining the gap between the flywheel and the Bluetooth and ANT+ LEDs, as shown below. Ensure the optical tape is present and in tact by rotating the flywheel and examining this gap, potentially with a flashlight if needed.

If dirty, unplug the KICKR SNAP for at least 30 seconds, then clean the tape with rubbing alcohol and a soft cloth or cotton swab. Be careful to avoid dripping excess moisture onto any part of the KICKR SNAP to prevent electrical damage.
